We say prayer is communicating with God. But it is even more than that!

Prayer is communicating with God, approaching him as father through relationship, with boldness and faith to receive his response according to his will.

What another fantastic message delivered by one of our Core Leaders, Laura. Laura's gift for teaching really blessed us as she took us through what can feel like an overly-familiar but often overlooked subject that is so crucial in our relationship with God.

Consistency is key. And so is attaching scripture to our prayers. When we repeat words that have come from God in our conversations with him and for someone's situation, we are sending prayers into the future ready to be made manifest in accordance with his will.

But we must also do this with confidence. We approach the throne of grace with boldness, not only to be able to speak to the Father, but also expect him to respond. We don't always know the timing, but he does not go back on his promises. Persevere.

And if you can manage to do this as your first-fruit with each new day, you really are on to a winner in your walk with God.

Walking with Jesus was never meant to be a burden. This is exactly why he took all of our shortfalls to the cross. Now we get to live and walk in freedom with the same Son of God who is also interceding on our behalf!

It's time for us to be weaned off the spiritual milk, FC Southsea, and begin to enjoy some prayers of substance!
